An opportunity for law students to gain first-hand insight into legal practice

Our Summer Internship Programme enables law students to become familiar with the day-to-day workings of a law firm, review different types of matters and connect their theoretical knowledge with legal practice.

Details of the programme duration, available places and working arrangements are shared with candidates during the relevant application period.

What will you do during the programme?

You will assist with research into current legislation, case law and legal doctrine.
You will observe the preparation of litigation, advisory and contractual matters.
You will contribute to the preparation of legal documents, matter summaries and meeting notes.
You will participate in matter reviews and team meetings conducted by our lawyers.
You will gain exposure to various practice areas, including maritime law, commercial law, contracts and dispute resolution.
You will take part in the firm’s internal knowledge-sharing and professional development activities.

Law students, preferably in their second, third or fourth year of study

We expect lawyers joining our team to play an active role not only in legal research and document preparation, but also in client relations, litigation strategy, negotiations, risk assessment and matter management.

Your Responsibilities

Manage matters across various areas of law, particularly maritime law, commercial and corporate law, contracts, investments and dispute resolution
Draft legal opinions, pleadings, contracts, reports, formal notices and client updates
Assist with the preparation and management of litigation, arbitration, mediation and negotiation processes
Contribute to communications with clients, business partners, public authorities and other industry stakeholders
Assess the legal and commercial risks of matters and develop alternative solutions
Regularly monitor national and international legislation and industry developments
Support the professional development of trainee lawyers and law students
Contribute to the firm’s legal publications, training and business development initiatives

Qualifications We Seek

Admission to a bar association
Strong legal research, analytical and written communication skills
Ability to use written and spoken English in professional legal work
Proficiency in matter tracking, time management and prioritisation
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
A clear, attentive and solution-oriented approach to client communication
Commitment to professional responsibility, confidentiality and ethical principles
A detail-oriented, proactive and development-focused approach; experience in maritime law, commercial law, contracts, corporate law, litigation, arbitration or dispute resolution will be considered an advantage.
